Thunderfight 20xx appears to run really good (smooth) in IE9 and Chrome 21. But for some reason it gets choppy in FireFox 15 and Safari 5.17. Is there any recommends to reduce the choppiness in these 2 browsers, this way its a more smooth experience?
I've noticed this and done some experiment... I cannot tell you exactly why but I think this has to do with the way browsers detect which pages should be hardware-accelerated and somehow interpolate between dom element movement.
One way I found to generate the same effect for firefox (and probably safari though I didn't test it) is to double the refresh rate. If you set 15 ms instead of 30 you'll see that everything get much smoother. You'll have to change some value so that the resulting game doesn't get speeded-up.
Thank you Selim. I'll experiment with that advice. I got a feeling that IE9 and Chrome do have better hardware-accelerated features built in, but I can't prove that. Perhaps they will get better for FireFox and Safari over time.
Thunderfight 20xx, (using this game a benchmark) is also excellent when played on Opera 12.02 web browser. Firefox and Safari have some catching up to do when it comes to gaming...
